Moonshadows is a story-driven Free Company residing on Balmung, composed of a motley crew of characters seeking to make history through record after mostly retiring from a life of adventuring. Up Front
- We are an LGBTQIA+ friendly and populated community.- We operate on EST.- Our DM-led events are typically held on Saturday evenings.- We bend the lore, but we do not break it. Our DM’s and junior DM’s are highly engaged and interested in helping you tell your character’s story in a way that makes sense inside the world of Final Fantasy XIV.- Our leader is an Ascian. They strive to keep strong story actions to a minimum so as to avoid being overpowered, and allow members to instead solve problems presented to them without divine intervention. We are up front about this OOC ahead of time for applicant comfort, though the knowledge is not readily available IC.
What We Do
- Casual weekly events! Once or twice a week, Moonshadows will host open RP events themed around several prompts to drop in on. Occasionally, these are open to the public.- DM-style events! We have several DMs that strive to provide heavier, plot based narratives and one-shots for characters to engage with once every other week. Some of these are connected to the overarching story of the FC, some of them are character based, while others strive to engage with the overall world state. (Moonshadows is currently set in post-patch Shadowbringers)- Light content! Our FC primarily does maps and roulettes together, but we have also fielded occasional savage group content as well as EX content.
What We Don't Do
- While our FC is 18+, we do not engage in ERP. Whatever you do behind closed doors is your business, but when it comes to FC events, we do not engage with ERP nor do we allow members to harass others with requests for it.- While high engagement is the lifeblood of consistent RP, we don’t expect members to attend every event – only that they are an active member of our community. Our goal is to provide a healthy, robust RP experience for our members when they desire it without the expectation of treating roleplay like a second job.
